Delta Airlines Cancellation Policy
Delta Air Lines’ Business-Class (Delta One & First Class) cancellation rules as they stand on May 17 2025. Always double-check the exact fare rules shown at booking, because a few special-promo or consolidator fares can differ.
Risk-Free 24-Hour Cancellation
- Every ticket purchased directly from Delta (including Basic Economy) may be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund to original form of payment as long as you cancel before departure.
How to Cancel
- Go to My Trips on delta.com or the Fly Delta app.
- Choose “Need to Cancel?” → “Start Flight Cancellation.”
- The site shows whether you’ll get a refund or an eCredit and any fee that will be deducted before you confirm.
- Or Contact Our Customer Support TollFree Number
If you booked through a third-party agency, you must cancel through that agency.
Involuntary Cancellations & Major Schedule Changes
If Delta cancels your flight, or a delay/schedule change causes you to arrive 3 hours or more later than originally scheduled, you may choose either:
- Rebooking on the next available Delta flight at no cost, or
- Full cash refund for the unused portion of your ticket, even on non-refundable fares.
eCredits at a Glance
- Stored in your SkyMiles profile; transferable only to the original passenger(s).
- Must begin travel within one year of the original purchase date.
Quick Tips
- Upgrading after purchase? You can still apply Global Upgrade Certificates or pay a fare difference without losing refundability.
- Booked with SkyMiles? Award tickets in Delta One/First follow the same fee-free rules as paid flexible tickets on U.S./Canada-originating itineraries. Where a fee applies, it is deducted in miles.
For anything unusual—multi-carrier itineraries, travel originating outside North America, or corporate-contract fares—always read the specific fare rules or call Delta before cancelling.
